CEREMONY
Your wedding day is a special day for you and as such you should be in total control of how your ceremony is put together so that it can be a special and meaningful ceremony to both of you to be remembered for the rest of your life.
YOUR CEREMONY...
I will be working with you to put together a ceremony which suits your individual needs using sample ceremonies which I will supply or you can use your own personally written ceremony . It can be a very formal one or a friendly informal one.
Each wedding ceremony is unique due to the different compositions of introductions, poems, asking and vows, however, a few parts of the ceremony will be the same for all ceremonies as the civil marriage celebrant has to meet certain criteria under the Marriage Act, 1961. The celebrant will go through these with you as well as exploring the option of involving loved ones in your ceremony.
ON THE DAY...
On the day of the wedding, after the completion of the ceremony, the bride and groom and two witnesses over the age of eighteen are required to sign the Marriage Register and Marriage Certificates which will be then presented to the bride and groom. This certificate however is only a commorative one and you will still need to get the standard legal certificate from the office of Births, Deaths and Marriages. You can choose the style you want and pay the celebrant to order it for you to come to you after the paperwork has been processed by the BDM or you may elect to order it direct from the BDM at a later date.
