Do you wish to marry your loved one who currently lives overseas? The following process outlines how I can help you get a 'Fiance Visa' for your spouse.
How I can help...

Together we fill out the NOIM (Notice of Intention of Marriage) Form. For this you will need your Birth Certificate and/or Passport as well as Photo I.D. Please note the more information we can write with regards your intended, the more complete the form is.

In this meeting, I will provide the letter you require for the Department of Immigration to issue a 'Fiancé Visa.'

Please be aware that the NOIM is valid for a maximum of 18 months from the date it is filled out and the date of marriage is a guide only which can change within that period. It is a legal requirement however for the marriage to occur within nine months from the date your fiancé arrives in Australia.

You will need to pay a deposit at this meeting which covers the cost of the letter as well as the cost of the completing the NOIM.

We would need this information from both of you before the actual paperwork can be completed:

Father & Mother's fullname (including Mother's maiden name) & their countries of birth.

If your fiance has been married before, we need: Number & year of each previous marriage & the number of children & year of birth of those children. (Please note: I will need to sight original divorce/death documents.)

How last marriage terminated (death/divorce or nullity) & the date.
Other useful Information:
Please note that the law requires that you have met your fiance as an adult prior to the wedding taking place and that the wedding takes place within nine months of the fiance's arrival in Australia.

Another important point after the wedding has happened is that the official Marriage Certificate that couples can obtain from the Registry of Births Deaths & Marriages may need to be stamped by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs for your marriage to be recognised elsewhere. Therefore it is advisable that you check with your own Embassy as to its requirements.

Please note that non-Australians should check with authorities in their own countries before marrying in Australia as some foreign countries do not recognise a marriage in Australia as valid unless other requirements are met such as the prior granting of permission from the country’s embassy.
